30 Hour Famine

Our youth are very excited to participate in World Vision’s annual 30-Hour Famine on March 8-9, 2013. They are fasting for 30 hours to raise money to fight childhood hunger. They will spend the weekend learning about kids in other countries facing starvation as well as participating in service projects around our church and community.

Operation Christmas Child

Boxes Collected for Operation Christmas Child!

We were blessed to drop off 34 boxes–packed full of toys, stickers, and hope–for Operation Christmas Child. This is a great opportunity to show the love of Christ, and we are thankful for the gospel ministry follow-ups that happen after the children receive their gift boxes. Kids Club and Youth Group News

The final Super Summer Kids Club & party will be held on Wednesday, August 29th from 7 – 8 p.m. We will have a month-long break, and then Youth Group and Kids Club will begin on Wednesday, October 3rd. We are taking a break from our AWANA program for this year, however, we will be offering another kids program from 7 – 8 p.m. each Wednesday evening. Check back mid-September for more updated information. Please call the church with any questions.

KidZone at Indian River Summerfest

We were so thankful for the opportunity to run the KidZone activities during Indian River’s Summerfest in July. Games were set up in front of the Chamber of Commerce, and many kids and their families stopped in throughout the afternoon to throw wet sponges at our volunteers, play Minute to Win It games, jump in the bounce house and have their faces painted. It was a beautiful, sunny day, and our volunteers worked so hard without complaining! We were cooled off and refreshed mid-afternoon by ice cream courtesy of Brazier’s Dairy Mart. We were able to hand out tracts and information about our church to many families. We are already looking forward to next year!

Sky Vacation Bible School

We had a fabulous week for this year’s Vacation Bible School! God brought a group of precious kids to our church, and a host of volunteers worked together to run the program. The gospel was clearly presented, and we pray that God will continue to use the lessons learned throughout the week in the days ahead. Each day, we learned that no matter what our circumstances are, no matter who we are, no matter what people do or say, we can trust God!

The kids collected penny rolls all week (girls against boys, of course!), and between that and matching gifts from some of our members, we were able to send a generous love offering to one of our missionaries to help their son receive some much-needed physical therapy.
